The work of the Lost Gallery project is underpinned by a collaborative research project between the University of Liverpool and National Museum Liverpool.
The project researcher is Francoise Rutland. By cataloguing in detail the remaining artefacts and archives from the destroyed Hittite Gallery at Liverpool Museum, Francoise is uncovering how the gallery came into being, what was in it, and what has happened to the collection since the bombing of 1941.
This project is sponsored by the Arts and Humantities Research Council (AHRC) and is supervised by Alan M. Greaves at the University of Liverpoool and Ashley Cooke at National Museums Liverpool.
