Come and spend an afternoon at the School of Archaeology,Classics &Egyptology’s Ancient Market Day for schools.
This is a ‘fete-style’ interactive day for exploring aspects of the ancient world (a guide to the market and question sheet will be given to students when they arrive),aimed at Years 9 and 10. Download the flyer here.
Experts from the School will be on hand manning the various ‘stalls’ to talk about their areas of expertise and answer questions. Find out about ancient food,drink and clothing,and what these things meant to the Greeks,Romans and Egyptians,and discovery what mummification was,and why people did it. Hear ancient languages spoken by eavesdropping on some bartering,and read and write on our ancient graffiti wall.
