Liverpool Ancient Worlds is the public face of the University of Liverpool’s department of Archaeology,Classics and Egyptology,one of the leading centres internationally for the study of the ancient world. Our unique expertise ranges from the archaeology of human evolution, through ancient Egypt and the Near East,to Greece,Rome and Iron Age Europe.

We hold a series of events throughout the year,from our longstanding Summer School,to day courses and short events. All of our courses and events give you the opportunity to discover the latest developments in research as well as to learn any of a number of ancient languages:  Greek,Latin,Hieroglyphs,Coptic,Akkadian,Sumerian,Sanskrit and Hebrew. Most of our courses require no prior experience and those that do are clearly indicated.
